Color Guard

The Color Guard adds flair with flags and a banner to the public events in which the St. Andrews Pipe Band participates.  There are numerous parades and events throughout the summer.

The Color Guard is made up of folks who enjoy the music of bagpipes and drums and accompany the band adding the flourish of flags and a banner.  We include band spouses and children of band members, members of the St. Andrews Society of Vermont, band students, or anyone else who enjoys the pageantry of marching with a pipe band.

Prior musical experience is not needed to participate. Members learn some basic rules for marching, and wear Scottish attire.  The time commitment ranges by various participants according to their desires.  There are some members who participate in all the events of a season, and others do just one that is in or near their town.  And it is a fun way to be a part of a parade.
